I have been reading Genesis lately and the Garden of Eden has been my focus as I walked into my new year on this earth. I thought of my last birthday as my Return to Eden. I celebrated it with a nude photo shoot because I wanted to be able to look at me bare naked and see me. I was role-playing how I came into this earth, bare and ready to be molded!! Every roll, stretchmark or perceived imperfection, I wanted to see it and capture it because this was my new beginning!!!!
And listen, I’m here now, I’m happy, I feel healed and I feel fulfilled!!! But I haven’t always been like this, it took some time for me to be able to sit alone and just enjoy me. If you don’t see me running behind people to check on them it’s ok. It’s not my job, it’s just simply not my assignment at the time and I have learned to love it here!! There is a peace to knowing that this time, I can sit this one out. Finally I am over here fixing me, trying to get me right so I can withstand my own hurricane when it hits. I used to be over here praying over others, loving on others and being other people’s safety net causing me to fail myself. And I wasn’t taking the time to confront and acknowledge that something [insert noun: person, place or thing] is or has hurt me. I always felt like, oh I can handle this; I will be fine. That was really causing me self harm mentally!!!! And that behavior required me to examine myself. Because, why was this [incoming energy] ok for me to accept? Why would I embrace such energy into my space?
We go through lessons to improve our behavior and decisions to advance beyond Eden.
The symbolic Garden of Eden is our beginning and our end in experience in every situation of our life.
The story is of our life cycle, our situation cycles and relationship cycles. As the sperm fertilizes the egg, the earth was brought into existence by development. Just as an embryo develops. So when we come into this world, we are symbolically Adam and Eve wondering through life getting our bumps and bruises and learning how to navigate. And each bump teaches us a lesson based on what we need to learn–whether good or bad.
The Devil is a thing, and sometimes the Devil is you! Something has to be the Devil in your life. Something had to push you down. How else would you have learned how to crawl, walk and run. That forward movement requires strength and strength is gained by determination and a willingness to advance.
So when we gain so much knowledge, we get pushed out of Eden, out of our comfort zone, to go face the world again. But I don’t think getting pushed out of Eden is a bad thing, after all, life didn’t end. When reading Moses 3:17, it literally does tell us that “eating from the tree of life, surely you will die”! But if we learn to take this as a metaphorical death and insert the word “transform”, it makes the verse a bit more palatable and easier to understand. Because we know that the legacy of Adam and Eve, obviously they didn’t die–they transformed!
In fact, after we left Eden, we were giving so much more. Instead of being locked into a tiny beautiful 4×4 with no place to go, they key unlocked to a much bigger world with new people with new experiences. How much could you really grow if confined to Eden?
Eden was about growth, overcoming the devil’s in your life and growing into a whole new you. Eden is about growing greater than your present circumstances and moving out and up!!
Getting kicked out of Eden was a fantastic thing. And I don’t think God is mad about it, in fact, I think he celebrates it!!!! Don’t you want your children to be a better version than you??? Of course…..well I do!!!!!!!!
But with growth comes some sort of death, and with the way alot of us are taught to deal with death, it has been a learned behavior to accept it as a loss and fear. Because as far as we know, there is no tangible proof of what comes after death. Yes!!! We have psychics, mediums and those who have near death experiences, but it’s not tangibly ours to understand with any amount of certainty. Growth requires us to look at death with the possibilities! Maybe the best lesson we can learn is how to let go gracefully, because our outcomes are always in our greatest good if we learn to view life in those eyess. We are never put through things to bury us, but mearly as opportunities to increase our territories. How we handle our life obstacles (our personal devil), determines how long we get stuck in Eden.
Adam nor Eve fought being kicked out of Eden. They went out into the world to learn more things to do greater things. We have to reprogram our thoughts surrounding death. Although our spirits have an understanding that there is more beyond this life, our flesh does not. And we react in situations surrounding death, as though there in no continuation. And the unknowing amps up our anxiety making death so uncomfortable and scary . Fear surrounding death sets in, ONLY because we forgot who we were and that we are capable of connecting with spirits and ancestors in another realm. But that is because because we are bound to Eden, staying connected with our devil instead of moving forward.
Being freed from Eden is a great thing. It is growth.
Living in your Eden is ok, and it can even be healthy for some because the soul does need rest. Listen, do not judge your current circumstances against your friends. You have existed forever!!!! You have been living forever!!!! Maybe this trip around the sun your soul needed some restoration. That’s ok, and that’s healthy!!! So follow your growth process by how fulfilled you feel on the inside, and not how you are guilted into feeling. Your spirit/soul and your God knows what’s best for you and will always lead you accordingly.
Going back to our topic, when you are moving, you look at how your devil is presenting itself. And where you will find your growth is when [YOU] decide to leave Eden. And how is that judged? By how you respond to the situation!!!
Have you grown enough in your walk to face your devil, defeat your devil and walk out of Eden for bigger and better things. Or do you need to continue to face this devil over and over to gain more strength.
Either is ok, because at the end of the road is your growth. But it’s about how you heal. Did you slide down the water slide on in a tropical Oasis feeling the thrills and exhilaration of the experience, or did you take on your devil and slide down it like it was in the middle of a blackberry bramble! By the time you make it to the enjoyable water slide ride, it’s time to pack your bags and walk out of Eden.
Eden presents as every problem or obstacle that enters your life. However, don’t worry about the finish line. You are crossing finish lines and winning everyday in life in things that your human mind is not even actively processing. But it’s helping you and future generations and influencing parts of the future for the entirety of the existence of earth. So don’t worry about your finish line, instead strive to live in such a way that leaves you feel fulfilled everyday. What I am sure of is, you don’t leave a situation or have an ending until it’s time. So if it doesn’t happen, it wasn’t suppose to happen. Your Eden moment is when you learn to choose you. That is the biggest and best thing that we can ever do. It is impossible to be in a positive and impactful relationship with other entities if we don’t even know how to take care of our own spirits and devils.
Are they coming back? Possibly, but maybe the separation is necessary!!!! Each party had to grow!!!
Are you going back to work? It could be, but maybe you needed a health break, or a mental health break. Maybe your opportunity is a month away, but those are the parts of building and learning life lessons–how you handle your Devils.
Is it time for you to leave Your Eden?
Whether you are ready to walk out is dependent on your determination to beat your devil. It is normally in our “fuck it” moment when we finally bet on “us”, and finally choose ourselves. It is in the middle of your temptation that you understand exactly who you are, how disciplined you are and how magnificent and magical you really are!! In our “do or die” moment, there is no longer an option to allow [insert energy] to cause further emotional damage.
And hopefully, the decisions you made in an effort of to defeat your devils resulted in you being blessed enough to walk out of Eden.
However, if you ended up in jail, you probably should have went with the other choice in your Eden moment….and hopefully you will get an opportunity of redo….if you are supposed to. 😉
