Faith Unfolded: What Religion Didn’t Teach Me

✨ Reimagining the Divine: A Spiritual Journey from Doctrine to Revelation

Everything we experience in this life is a lesson. Whether that lesson becomes a blessing or a cautionary tale depends on how we navigate our free will. Life constantly teaches us — not just through joy, but also through what we choose to do next time.

What’s true above all else is this: there is nothing new under the sun.
Despite our religious affiliations or spiritual paths, sacred stories across cultures have always offered wisdom. Many of those ancient truths still resonate — even in these modern, complex times.

That’s why I’m inviting you to join me on a deep, spiritual exploration: reading and interpreting religious texts, sacred stories, and cultural wisdoms to gain clarity, connection, and understanding.

🔍 Where My Journey Begins

Because I was raised in the Christian faith — specifically in the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church — I’ll be starting with interpretations of the Christian Holy Bible. But know this isn’t just about tradition. This is about truth-seeking.

My spiritual awakening began with deep, pressing questions — especially around the birth of Jesus and the story of the virgin birth. While I hold unwavering belief in Yeshua (Jesus) as a divine teacher and guide, I’ve also come to understand a deeper spiritual truth:

I believe that Yemaya, the great Orisha of motherhood and oceans, is the true Mother of Yeshua.

This might sound radical to some. After all, Yeshua and Yemaya belong to two very different traditions. But the deeper I searched, the more blurred those lines became.

🔺 A Divine Realignment: My Holy Trinity

In the theology I was taught, the divine order was:
The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.
But now, I recognize a deeper, more complete divine alignment:
The Father, The Mother, and The Son.

This trinity reflects the full image of divinity. And if we’re made in the image of God — how could the divine not include the feminine?

😔 Tearing Down What Was Built Around Me

It wasn’t easy to unravel what I had been taught my entire life. Questioning the story of creation, Noah’s Ark, and the Virgin Mary felt like betrayal. And yet, I could no longer ignore that it didn’t fully resonate with what my soul was experiencing.

One thing I’ve never questioned? The crucifixion.
Because humans have always turned on their truth-tellers — and cancel culture is far from new.

🌊 Meeting Mama Yemaya

One day during a meditation, I felt a presence. A voice gently said:
“You are ready to learn. I am Mama Yemaya.”

Whew — I immediately stopped meditating. Like, hold up, not in my spiritual house! I started praying, asking God for protection and to cast away anything that wasn’t of light.

Then Yeshua came to me and reassured me. He said:
“You’re safe. It’s time to learn.”
And we talked — about Yemaya, about truth, about connection beyond religion.

Later, I spoke to Yemaya herself.
And let me tell you — that woman… that spirit… is magnificent. She is warm, wise, powerful, and familiar. Because I’m skeptical by nature, I asked for proof. And Spirit delivered.

The message? Yemaya is the Virgin Mary. Different names. Same sacred mother.

After researching the synchronicities between the two, I was stunned. You should research it too — the overlap is undeniable. That encounter was so profound, I now include Yemaya in my daily prayers and meditations.

And I can’t lie… it feels incredible knowing that my Divine Mother is a radiant, powerful Black woman — who looks like me.

📖 What We’ll Be Exploring Together

So here’s where we begin:
We’ll study spiritual and historical references — starting with the Bible — through the lens of a deeper, more complete divine order:

God, our Father.
Yemaya, our Mother.
Yeshua, their Son.

If this perspective resonates, stay close. If it challenges you, stay open.

Let our study begin.
Let truth meet Spirit.
Let the Divine Feminine rise.
